Updates for Jan 2010

Hi all: The good news is that my agent and I are again talking about where to take the Lacey mystery series. We're kicking around ideas. We're slow because I'm contracted at Berkley now for four more romances and three urban fantasies. A lot to write!

The Stormwalker series will lean more toward the mystery side: Think Jim Butcher or Charlaine Harris meets Tony Hillerman.

More information on that series can be found at the series page:

I will be posting a first chapter there soon. The book is out in May.

I am excited by what my agent and I are discussing, and am more hopeful about the Lacey series than I have been. I'll keep you posted.

I was chatting to my current editor over breakfast this weekend about Captain Lacey. Nothing concrete, just speculating. I know it depends on getting my numbers up (which means encouraging booksellers to initially order my books in larger numbers; which depends on new book sales). I haven't given up! :-)

I wonder whether the folks at Paperback Swap might be able to give you any indication of how popular your books are there -- I've blazed through all 6 of the Gabriel Lacey novels, reading each one to the detriment of my health, nutrition, maternal duties, household obligations, etc., without a backward glance, and can't wait for the next one -- I know I'm not alone!

Hello! I recently discovered the Captain Lacey novels on the recommendation of a good friend. They are terrific. I hope you will continue with the series. I'm on Book 4, with only two more left to read.
